Coney Island

We went to Coney Island....what a sad and neglected tourist spot, 45mins on the train to see a seaside fair ground and 1000's of kids here on Summer school care!! Oh there was a little eye candy there, which made it a bit better, here's some pics!

New York Again!

I don't know what day it is.....We've been here so long we now talk like them, have attitudes like them and walk the streets like them...... Today we woke up to a rainy New York City, wet, wet, wet.....but still quite warm! Derek and I leisurely got up had breakfast and then made our way outside to see more sights, on today's travel itinerary was the Brooklyn Bridge and lunch downtown in Little Italy...well that's what we had planned! We got on the subway (thought we were experts now!) to the bridge, it's still raining remember, and started our walk across, the bridge was really quiet with walking traffic due to the rain & all the painting and maintenance work being done on it. Needless to say we got a wee bit wet, the bridge was unsightly! See pics! From there we walked around the southern part of the island and headed to Battery Park there we decided to get on the ferry and go and visit Miss Liberty, never done her before! See more pics. Came back got on the subway where we thought we were heading for Little Italy, WRONG! it was an express, so ended up at Union Square, but that was ok. Found an excellent Organic Food Market and served up in take away boxes a fabulous lunch, which you pay by the pound! Walked back to the hotel from there 29 blocks(now remember the blocks are usually the size of North Tce to Grenfell St) in length! We collapsed when we got in!!!

New York State of mind!

Well we've gone totally crazy here and the savings account has had a bashing, i think my name has rubbed off my card from all the abuse!!! The sales are on, there's outlet stores everywhere and then there's WOODBURY COMMON's out there in Central Valley New York, about 45mins out of the city......OMG!! Jeff and Robin left this morning for the South, so Derek and I are continuing with more sight seeing. Yesterday we did the High Line Garden a dis-used rail track above the city streets which was created by volunteers of NYC. Today we walked the entire Central Park and back to the hotel, some 9 blocks, so i said it before and i'll say it again i'll have the best ass & legs from all this walking, but it still won't come off the belly...Damn!! LOL. PnD xx
